New Years Coffee Shop Window

After taking down the pink reindeer Christmas window, I wanted to keep the fun, playful vibe going into the new year. Sticking to my usual colour palette, I was inspired by the open water swimmers I’ve seen around the Lake District, bravely diving into freezing cold lakes year round.

The design features swimmers plunging into cups of coffee, with the title Diving In, Full of Beans, a concept that came together while sketching out different ideas. This café is one of my favourites, not only because of its warm, welcoming atmosphere, but also because the window is huge and brilliant to paint on, right in the centre of town.

As I painted, local passers by stopped to chat, with many of the regulars eagerly anticipating what was coming next. I had full creative freedom, so I tried to make the design feel as fitting to the shop as possible, keeping it fun and fresh for the new season. I hope it brings a smile to people walking past and tempts them inside.
